Day 20: Separating Results from Self-Worth

Relate Like Future You — Today Challenge

Goal of the Day

Practice separating your self-worth from outcomes or results.

Inspiration for the Day

International Day of Acceptance focuses on inclusion and understanding. We use it to practice accepting yourself as you are today, separating results from self-worth, and remembering that outcomes give information, not a definition of who you are.

Insight

Results are information, not a verdict on who you are. When outcomes get tangled up with self-worth, it becomes harder to learn and keep moving forward.

Separating what happened from what it means about you creates room for honesty without self-judgment. That steadiness makes growth easier, even when things don’t go as planned.

Reflection

Questions

  1. What result are you using to judge yourself right now?
  2. What are the facts vs. the story you’re telling yourself?
  3. What did you do that you can still be proud of?
  4. What is one supportive statement you can practice today?

Morning Journal Prompt

What would it look like to approach today with self-acceptance, regardless of outcomes?

Evening Journal Prompt

What result or outcome did I notice myself judging today, and what is one fact that helps me separate my worth from that result?
